Land Banking in the Commonwealth (Webinar)

Join us for this free webinar. This will be the primer you need to get started with a land bank in Virginia. We’ll discuss what land banks are, what they do, and how your community can use them. In 2016, the Virginia General Assembly passed the Land Bank Entities Act, which authorizes localities to form a land bank either by creating a local government authority, forming a nonprofit corporation, or selecting an existing nonprofit. Currently, there are at least six operating in the Commonwealth, and about 170 operating nationwide. Land banks provide pathways for communities to return vacant properties to use.
