Lysandra Shaw is the Executive Director of the Newport News Redevelopment &Housing Authority (NNRHA), a position she has held since 2024. In this role, she oversees the daily operations and programs of the housing authority. Ms. Shaw joined the NNRHA in 2022 as the agency’s Deputy Director. The NNRHA serves as the redevelopment arm for the City of Newport News and provides affordable housing programs to over 4,500 families.

Ms. Shaw brings over 20 years of experience in housing and community development in the region to her role. Her career includes positions with the City of Suffolk, the Portsmouth, Norfolk, and Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authorities, and the Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation. She also serves on the Virginia Housing Rental Housing Advisory Council and the Virginia Association of Housing and Community Development Board.
Ms. Shaw is a strong supporter of the community and dedicates herself to the development and success of programs that boost the well-being of the citizens of Newport News. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Salem College and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Originally from North Carolina, she has resided in Virginia since 2002.
